Critically Acclaimed Indie Rockers Metric to Perform at CAMH’s UnMasked After Party on May 11
TORONTO, April 26, 2011 – The platinum-selling, award-winning band Metric is confirmed to perform a special acoustic set at the 2011 Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) UnMasked After Party on May 11 at 99 Sudbury.
They have found critical-acclaim around the world, but members of the Canadian indie rock band have for years called the Queen West area of Toronto home, and the CAMH Queen Street location their neighbour.

On May 11, Metric band mates Emily Haines and James Shaw will perform a special 30-minute acoustic set at the CAMH UnMasked After Party event, a dynamic fundraiser for Canada’s largest hospital for mental illness and addictions. Metric joins the previously announced emcee George Stroumboulopoulos and other special guests that will be announced in the coming weeks.
"I think everyone, everywhere knows someone who has been affected by addiction and mental health issues. It truly is a universal struggle," said Emily Haines, lead singer of Metric. "Having spent a lot of time in the Queen West neighbourhood, we've seen firsthand the vital and transformative work that CAMH is doing. We look forward to partnering with CAMH for the UnMasked event and doing our part to help end the stigma associated with mental health and addiction."
On May 11, over 700 food, music and art lovers come together at UnMasked 2011, an eclectic evening in support of CAMH. In addition to a live performance by Metric, the UnMasked After Party will also feature a live art auction, featuring the work of over 22 artists, including a special commission by renowned Canadian artist, Charles Pachter, entitled “Hat Check”. Now in its fourth year, UnMasked is bigger and better than ever with great live music, celebrity guest djs and a virtual graffiti wall. The most recent UnMasked event held in 2009 raised over $600,000 in support of CAMH.
After Party tickets are $150 per person, or 12 tickets for $1500 and are available at unmasked.ca
