Chad and Leslie
"It makes us happy to know that CAMH will be there for us and that it is growing to meet the needs of our community."
Why did Chad and Leslie become monthly donors to CAMH? Family.
They recognize that every family in Canada will be touched by mental illness and/or addiction at some point. In fact, they both have close family members who have had struggles with these issues in the past. One was treated at CAMH.
"Both Chad and I have close family members who have dealt with mental health and addiction issues and one of my family members has used CAMH in the past," explains Leslie. "As a result, we understand the difference that quality mental health services can make in the lives of those who need it."
With or without this history, Chad and Leslie understand the need. Statistics show that they or one of their 3 children will need CAMH at some point in their lives. In their view, that alone should motivate any parent to give. "It makes us happy to know that CAMH will be there for us and that it is growing to meet the needs of our community. That’s why we became monthly donors and why we think others should too," says Leslie.
They urge others to support CAMH, as they believe the hospital will help many other Toronto families.
