CAMH Queen Street Redevelopment- Construction Begins

Starting on Tuesday February 9, you will notice active construction happening on the CAMH site. Demolition activity will move from west to east and will be completed by summer 2010. Construction of the three new CAMH buildings will begin in March 2010. This phase of the redevelopment project will be completed by mid 2012.

Toronto landmark closes its doors in preparation of next phase of major redevelopment

CAMH will say goodbye to its landmark Administration Building at 1001 Queen St. West in a ceremony on October 29, 2009 at 4 p.m. Demolition of the building will begin in January 2010 to make way for the next major phase of CAMH’s ambitious redevelopment project, which is transforming care for Ontarians living with addiction and mental health issues.

Preferred proponent selected for phase 1B of CAMH redevelopment

CAMH and Infrastructure Ontario announced today that Carillion Health Solutions is the preferred proponent selected to design, build, finance and maintain Phase 1B of CAMH’s capital redevelopment project. As the preferred proponent, Carillion Health Solutions is in the process of negotiating a final contract with CAMH and Infrastructure Ontario.

CAMH Queen Street Redevelopment Project- Progress Update

A number of construction projects (collectively called “Enabling Works”) are underway at 1001 Queen Street West. The purpose of these works is to prepare the site for the demolition of the Administration Building and to ensure that the hospital can continue to operate smoothly while the next major phase of construction proceeds from early 2010 to Fall 2012.
